The Hood Internet, Steve Reidell and Aaron Brink, put out their debut album this year, after a long series of mix tapes defining what a mash up is supposed to be. Their album, Feat, follows some of the genre blending sensibility that put MCs over increasingly more creative sound beds, but does it without having to borrow from the songs of others. The album features a lot of guests including, The New Pornographers’ A.C. Newman, MCs like Cadence Weapon and Psalm One, and thepop singer, Annie Hart. It was featured in the chicago tribune as #3 in their list of Indie albums to come out of Chicago this year.
