Only in a Dim Sum party palace in Chinatown can you experience the supremely exotic, hyper-realness of Dark Disco. Below a bridge with a few dark alleys and a few dark corners, you enter a monthly throw down of international party rockers.
This month's dark disco features iconoclast Gaslamp Killer, Fool's Gold's Nick Catchdubs, an audio/visual experience from EDAN and Pablo Ygál - this Dark Disco is all about dissident hip-hop and experimental beats.
Last time we partied with Gaslamp Killer
in NYC was in an unfinished club basement that became a legendary party. GLK is a longtime friend in music who's risk taking and genre bending make us fans of the highest order. His off-kilter style ranges anywhere from psychedelia to dub step to hip hop - consistently high-energy, shirking the expected. As a co-founded of LA's Low End Theory, he definitely knows his way around a party.
is a literally a Dim Sum Party House specialist! As our partner in crime for Flashing Lights at the same Dim Sum home years back, together we broke in Chinatown proper. Catchdubs returns to bring a banging party set.
Edan is bringing a very special AV set to Dark Disco. Like Gaslamp Killer, Edan plays off hip-hop sensibilities - mixing in elements of dance, rap, and punk for an amazing, radical audio/visual experience we're super excited to bring to Chinatown.
is a man of mystery. His set will only be revealed on April 26th when we all are together on a Dim Sum Dancefloor.
