The thing about Witch House [...]

The thing about Witch House is that it’s sad, and dark, and makes you want to wax poetic about having a “cutting issue” or other adolescent phenomenon that gave your 15 year old life grit.

It’s hard to be sad when Spring is happening, festival season is starting, and most likely we (MeanRed Fam), will be courting you to join us on a boat, in a beer garden, or on a dancefloor adventure you probably won’t be able to resist.

BUT put that looming joy aside, and for a moment let yourself get into SKELETONKIDS.

This is your soundtrack to your Lost Boys summer of trouble.

NYC based James Grymmace and Todd Anthony create the creepiness.
They have a handful of recent releases to check including a recent shortplayer called “Siberia” free for download here.

Top 5 Reasons New Yorkers Love Food Trucks

Our annual food truck festival [...]

Our annual food truck festival ‘Parked’ is coming up later in the summer so til then we’re making sure we keep you up to date on food truck news and reminders of why they’re so damn great. Here’s a little list of our top 5 reasons why New Yorker’s love meals on wheels… in no particular order.

1. Value. Yes, you can probably get a Macdonald’s Happy Meal for the same price but the rise of the food truck has really allowed the city’s culinary fans to dine on restaurant quality food with the price tag of a chain eatery.

2. Convenience. Sure the lines can get a little crazy at lunch times but your’e still going to get your eats in a quicker time than you would sitting down for a meal. Plus, in areas where there’s not a whole lot around, food trucks can pull up and feed the hungry public quickly and conveniently.

3. Introduction to new cuisines. Food trucks provide the perfect place to be a little adventurous and steer away from what you normally order. At a brick and mortar restaurant people tend to order what they know due to the ‘commitment’ factor. Mobile eateries, however, offer you the perfect chance to take risks and try something new due to the prices and the convenience of them. They also offer old favorites with a new twist – think Mexicue, Gorilla Cheese, Korilla BBQ…

4. Freshness. Food trucks, for the most part provide their consumers with incredibly fresh food which is often cooked as you wait – something we definitely don’t rely on fast food chains for. Face-to-face contact with the chef is an added bonus as you can see your food being freshly prepared right in front of your hungry eyes.

5. It’s good for our city! Not only are food trucks almost always owned by local entrepreneurs who’d we’d much rather support over national chains, they also draw in tourists, provide jobs, contribute revenue to the city and generally energize the streets. In fact, it wouldn’t be incorrect to say that these days, New York food trucks have become an important part of the social fabric of our city.

Try a little taste of all the city’s best mobile eateries at this year’s ‘Parked! A Food Truck Festival’, August 4th @South St Seaport. Built by us, exclusively for you.
